What Sells Most — and Why It Matters

These rankings cover captured listings at Hyundai Glovis, AJ Autohub, SK Auction, Lotte Auto Auction, and K Car Auction from August 1–31, 2026. House tables rank model-and-trim labels by recorded sold count, with higher average sale prices breaking ties. Coverage is incomplete: SK lacks verified outcomes for a captured day, while Lotte lacks listings for a day with live results. Lotte and cross-house rankings describe the captured subset, not complete August sales.

Prices include auction hammer sales and post-auction negotiated transactions, converted at KRW 1,367.583778 per dollar on August 31, 2026, to the nearest $100. Destination costs are excluded. Our 451-car price study supplies separate retail context. The previous July edition covered June 22–July 21, 2026; comparisons here instead use July's calendar month. Sold rates use ALL captured listings, including unresolved statuses, not an eligible-lot clearance denominator.

Hyundai Glovis

Glovis is the largest-volume auction operator in this month's captured sample.

RankModelSoldAvg Price (USD)Range (USD)
1Casper Gasoline 1.0 Inspiration96$6,700$5,500–$10,900
2Avante (CN7) 1.6 Gasoline Modern41$9,000$5,800–$12,000
3All New Morning Gasoline Luxury41$1,900$1,300–$2,700
4New Carnival (KA4) 9-seat Diesel Prestige37$11,700$8,900–$16,700
5Porter II CRDi Double Cab Extra Long Wheelbase Style37$8,100$2,700–$10,300
6The All New Sportage 1.6 Gasoline 2WD Trendy34$9,900$8,800–$11,000
7The New Ray 1.0 Gasoline Prestige33$5,800$3,900–$8,400
8Torres 1.5 GDI-T 2WD T532$8,500$6,800–$9,700
9Grandeur HG 240 Modern32$2,200$1,400–$4,100
10Avante AD 1.6 GDi Value Plus29$4,300$3,300–$6,900

Casper Inspiration leads with 96 recorded sales, while Morning Luxury and Avante Modern share a sold count but occupy different price brackets. The Porter double cab adds a commercial option. The table gives buyers several sourcing lanes rather than identifying a single segment as the house specialty.

Captured sales totaled 5,293, compared with 7,814 in July, while the all-captured-listing sold rate rose to 53.2% from 43.6%. That is a recorded-sales ratio, not proof of stronger eligible-lot clearance. The smaller captured listing pool matters; the data do not explain why supply changed. Compare the individual ranges and inspection details before bidding.

AJ Autohub

AJ Autohub's August table pairs Carnival and Grandeur passenger models with Ray and Grand Starex vans.

RankModelSoldAvg Price (USD)Range (USD)
1New Carnival (KA4) 9-seat Diesel Prestige39$11,400$8,900–$16,000
2The New Grandeur IG Gasoline 2.5 Le Blanc38$12,800$7,800–$17,400
3The All-New G80 Gasoline 2.5 AWD26$19,400$10,200–$29,700
4New Carnival (KA4) 9-seat Diesel Noblesse26$13,100$9,200–$17,500
5Avante (CN7) 1.6 Gasoline Modern26$7,200$5,200–$12,400
6The New Ray Van Deluxe24$2,900$1,200–$4,100
7The New Grandeur IG Hybrid 2.4 HEV Le Blanc22$14,900$9,700–$20,400
8The New Grand Starex 3-seat Diesel Van Smart22$7,300$3,300–$10,300
9Sonata (DN8) L2.0 (ex-rental) Smart19$7,500$5,300–$9,700
10Santa Fe (DM) Diesel R2.0 2WD Premium19$2,800$2,200–$4,200

Carnival Prestige leads with 39 sales, closely followed by gasoline Grandeur Le Blanc at 38. The hybrid Grandeur is a separate row, so a buyer can distinguish its observed price band rather than infer it from the gasoline model. Santa Fe DM and Ray van offer lower-price alternatives; the table cannot establish their condition.

AJ rows use the original Korean listing title rather than the broad English model field. That keeps the Carnival trims separate. The English rendering preserves engine and seating details, and the CSV retains Korean titles for checking. The ex-rental label is listing information, not a substitute for inspection history.

SK Auction

SK Auction handles smaller volumes than Glovis.

RankModelSoldAvg Price (USD)Range (USD)
1The New K3 1.6 Gasoline Trendy53$8,000$5,500–$12,400
2All-New K3 1.6 Gasoline Standard51$5,900$4,800–$6,800
3The New Ray Van Standard50$4,000$2,700–$5,100
4EV6 Long Range 2WD Air49$17,500$12,500–$21,700
5Avante (CN7) 1.6 Gasoline Modern48$9,500$5,000–$12,500
6Ioniq 5 EV 2WD Long Range Exclusive40$16,700$10,900–$21,400
7Morning Urban 1.0 Gasoline Prestige36$6,600$4,500–$8,200
8The All-New G80 Gasoline 2.5 AWD32$21,000$16,300–$26,200
9Sonata (DN8) G2.0 Premium Plus30$11,700$7,800–$17,700
10The New Grandeur IG Gasoline 2.5 Le Blanc28$13,600$10,700–$17,600

The K3 leads SK's incomplete observed-sales ranking, with another K3 specification immediately behind it. EV6 Air recorded 49 sales and Ioniq 5 Exclusive 40, making electric vehicles visible alongside gasoline compacts. These are observed transactions, not a complete account of the month's outcomes or evidence of battery condition.

SK's recorded electrified share was 28.6%, versus 23.0% in July, but August observed sales are incomplete. August 25 contributes 710 listings last scraped before the auction and no live results. Its pre-auction statuses cannot verify failed sales. The printed 45.5% all-listing ratio, versus July's 57.9%, therefore does not establish a clearance decline. We retain those listings in the denominator rather than silently removing them.

Lotte Auto Auction

Lotte Auto Auction's G80-led ranking covers only four captured listing dates, not the full month.

RankModelSoldAvg Price (USD)Range (USD)
1G80 (G) 2.5T49$17,800$11,800–$24,900
2Morning Urban (G) 1.0 Standard (corporate)47$4,700$3,900–$5,700
3All New Avante (G) 1.6 Modern45$8,200$5,400–$12,600
4Carnival KA4 (D) 2.2 Prestige 9-seat39$10,800$8,300–$14,600
5The New Grandeur (G) 2.5 Le Blanc35$13,500$8,500–$16,700
6The New Grandeur (G) 2.5 Premium33$10,600$7,300–$14,300
7Interactive K5 (G) 2.0 Prestige32$10,400$7,100–$17,700
8Carnival KA4 (D) 2.2 Noblesse 9-seat25$12,900$9,300–$15,800
9G80 (G) 3.5T20$18,500$13,700–$26,300
10Niro Plus (E) Air19$11,800$8,000–$14,700

G80 2.5T recorded 49 sales in this subset, followed by Morning Urban at 47 and Avante Modern at 45. That is a more specific sourcing picture than a premium-house label: inexpensive small cars sit close to Genesis by observed volume. Separate Carnival and Grandeur specifications also matter when comparing a shortlist.

Review-time checks found 997 distinct August 10 live results, including 493 sold, but no corresponding listing-day rows in the unified view. The cause remains unverified; this is not evidence of a holiday. Those results have not been reconciled to vehicle/model listings and are not added to any table. The original automated gap note remains below with this clarification.

K Car Auction

K Car Auction's August leaders are Morning and Grandeur HG, with All New Sorento the highest-priced average in its leading rows.

RankModelSoldAvg Price (USD)Range (USD)
1All New Morning86$1,500$900–$2,200
2Grandeur HG71$2,100$1,100–$5,100
3YF Sonata60$1,800$1,100–$2,600
4Avante MD57$1,700$1,200–$2,600
5K351$2,400$1,600–$3,200
6Santa Fe DM47$3,000$2,000–$4,800
7Spark46$1,000$400–$1,900
8K540$2,100$1,200–$3,000
9Grand Starex39$3,200$1,600–$6,200
10All New Sorento35$5,300$3,000–$7,700

Morning recorded 86 sales and Grandeur HG 71. YF Sonata and Avante MD join Spark, Santa Fe DM, and Grand Starex, giving buyers sedan, small-car, SUV, and van options. K Car's labels are often broader than fully specified trims: shared row names do not imply identical equipment.

The all-captured-listing sold rate reached 65.5%, compared with 55.2% in July. That describes recorded sales, not future resale speed. Low purchase prices still need to be weighed against inspection findings and destination costs. An observed minimum is not a realistic target without checking the vehicle that produced it.

Cross-Auction Trends

Grandeur leads the captured subset. With incomplete SK outcomes and Lotte listing coverage, Grandeur recorded 1,068 sales, ahead of Avante's 821 and Carnival's 702. This is a different ranking from the house tables: it combines source labels at nameplate level. A standout Casper trim at Glovis can therefore lead its local table without making Casper the overall volume leader. Keep those levels separate when deciding whether to seek a particular specification or broaden a search.

Avante, Grandeur, and Carnival remain cross-house options. All sold at every house. Glovis supplied 278 Avantes and 381 Grandeurs; Carnival sales included 228 at Glovis and 223 at AJ. The per-house data still show Carnival sales at SK and K Car despite its absence from their leading trim rows. Absence from a top table means the label did not rank high enough, not that the house had no stock or no completed sales.

Genesis pricing depends on the mix. G80 nameplate means were $16,900 at Glovis, $17,200 at AJ, $18,600 at Lotte, $19,800 at SK, and $20,800 at K Car. GV80 means ranged from $23,100 at K Car to $28,800 at Glovis; AJ averaged $26,100, while Lotte and SK each averaged $26,800. These are pooled nameplate means, not matched-age, matched-mileage price comparisons. They help frame a search but do not prove one venue offers a discount for the same vehicle.

SK leads the incomplete observed electrified shares. Hybrid and electric vehicles represented 28.6% of SK's sold volume, followed by Lotte at 16.6%, Glovis at 7.9%, AJ at 7.7%, and K Car at 6.1%. The classification uses the recorded fuel type. It describes the composition of sold stock, not the share of listings available today, and it should not be treated as a measure of battery quality or export suitability.

The budget lane is not confined to K Car. Its Morning averaged $1,500 and Spark $1,000. Elsewhere, Glovis's Morning averaged $1,900 and Grandeur HG $2,200; AJ's Ray van averaged $2,900 and Santa Fe DM $2,800. Those rows provide concrete lower-price alternatives. Their different bodies, generations, and specifications matter: a cheap van is not a substitute for a family sedan just because both fit the same spending limit.

Data period: August 1–31, 2026. Real auction sale prices include hammer prices (낙찰가) and negotiated transactions; trim-level rows show mean and min–max, with source granularity exceptions below. USD conversion uses KRW 1,367.583778 per dollar on 2026-08-31, from Open Exchange Rates, rounded to the nearest $100. Exchange rates move; check current rates before purchasing.

Data note: glovis: listed volume in M is 55.4% of M-1 (9,943 vs 17,934); below 60%, not necessarily a data defect. lotte: no auction captured in week of 2026-08-10 — possible scrape gap or house holiday, unverified. Coverage clarification: Lotte August 10 has 997 distinct live results, including 493 sold, but no unified, latest, or daily-snapshot listings. The original rule note above is retained, not a holiday explanation. Lotte rankings cover only four captured listing dates; cross-house conclusions inherit this incomplete subset. Cause unverified; no unmatched results added. SK: August 25 has 710 pre-auction listings last scraped August 24, zero recorded sold and no live results. Statuses do not verify failed sales. Rankings and electrified share describe incomplete observed sales, not full-month clearance; all listings remain in denominators. Methodology (owner-confirmed): isSold true includes sold and negotiation_sold. no_bid, negotiation_requested, withdrawn, no_data, upcoming, and null are not sold. Q1–Q2 additionally require currentPrice > 0; Q0 and Q3–Q5 use isSold-only counts. Denominators include ALL captured listings, not eligible lots only. Prices include negotiated transactions, not exclusively hammer sales. Model labels retain source granularity: AJ rows are grouped by Korean listing title and translated; K Car labels can be broader than a fully specified trim. Cross-house averages are not matched-vehicle price comparisons. July validation: saved unchanged Q1 for 2026-06-22–2026-07-21 returned Glovis Casper Gasoline 1.0 Inspiration sold 157, within the accepted 157–158 range. The earlier 158 reference differs; cause unverified. Core snapshots were not re-collected.
